The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Regional State Senior Government Affairs Manager, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with innovative professionals worldwide and make an impact by: Representing the company before, interacting with, and lobbying state and local governments within the assigned region. Participating in and representing the company’s positions on trade associations such as state Chambers of Commerce and Manufacturing Associations. Drafting testimony, responses, comments, and conducting research to support state and local government affairs. Monitoring legislative activity in the region and reporting relevant issues to 3M. Working with internal stakeholders to develop policy positions and strategies to advance the company's agenda. Participating in national organizations to strengthen relationships and promote 3M’s legislative goals. Managing consultants and administrative tasks in the region. Your Skills and Expertise To succeed in this role, 3M requires at a minimum: A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. At least 8 years of experience in legislative or government roles, such as legislative aide, state employee, contract lobbyist, or similar in private, public, or military sectors. Additional helpful qualifications include: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently. Work Location: Remote, in one of the following states: IL, WI, CO, MO, IN, MI, OH. Travel: Up to 20% domestic travel may be required. Relocation Assistance: May be provided. Applicable to US applicants: The expected salary range is $212,947 - $260,268, including base pay and potential incentives. Actual offers depend on experience, skills, location, and other factors.
